Construction Management designs, coordinates and manages many of the architectural/construction projects for the City. Those may include construction of Capital Improvement Plan projects and special assigned projects. The construction manager performs assignments that include design development, development of bid specifications, evaluation of bid proposals, contract development and management, construction inspection and general contractor/construction manager duties.
Construction Management also works closely with the Facilities Maintenance Department when repairs and maintenance may have a significant impact on the function and finish of a space.
Some of the projects in which Construction Management has been involved include the Concho River improvements (including The Bosque and its putt-putt course), the renovation of Love Municipal Pool, the re-purposing of the Business Resource Center facility and the construction of fire stations No. 5 and No. 7.
Current projects involve the renovation of City Auditorium and the construction of a fire training center.
