Trash Services
Trash services are still in operation. Citizens can help the trash service run smoother by making sure their cart placement is in the best position for pickup. Please make sure the carts are placed at least five feet away from other objects, with the wheels against the curb. This will help ensure the truck routes run as efficiently as possible and will also help avoid potential delays.

Vitalant - formerly United Blood Services
The blood supply is at 1.5 days with 3 being optimum. The blood supply level continues to plummet with each passing day as more and more mobile blood drives are cancelling. At the Vitalant donation center, Monday was very busy - however Tuesday and Wednesday - only a handful of people donated. This trend needs to change at once - with more and more people donating to stave off the looming health care crisis - very little or no blood available.

Vitalant donation center at 2020 W. Beauregard has extended its hours of operation:

Monday - Thursday - 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Friday & Saturday -  8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sunday March 29 -  8 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.

Call 325-223-7500 for information or to make an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome! Click on this link to make an appointment  https://www.vitalant.org/Home.aspx

Goodfellow Air Force Base

To combat the spread of COVID-19, effective immediately, Goodfellow AFB is at HPCON Charlie.

HPCON Charlie measures include all previous HPCON measures along with the following:

  • Continue essential missions with required manning.
  • Maximize telework - only conduct in-person mission essential meetings that require the fewest personnel
  • Limit travel to essential movements only
  • Effective 27 Mar at 8:00 p.m., we will implement Tier 2, Limited Base Access.
    • Base access will limited to on-base residents and essential mission personnel for official business only
    • Active Military members and dependents will maintain access to the Commissary, BX, and acute care at the Clinic
    • North Gate will be closed during this period

We appreciate the service of our retirees and veterans and ask for your understanding during this time as we implement stricter guidelines for base services. The health and safety of our service members, their families, our retirees and the local community are our highest priority and we must take more extreme measures to keep our population safe.
