City water distribution video wins Lone Star EMMY award

Post Date:11/18/2019 12:15 PM

The City of San Angelo was recognized this weekend for the production of “Blessed,” a video that spotlights Water Distribution Crew Chief Ruben Salgado and the work behind the City’s water distribution department.

City Public Information Officer Brian Groves, who produced the video, accepted a Lone Star EMMY award for “Blessed” Saturday at a banquet in Arlington, Texas. The video was one of the last projects that Groves worked on with former Communications Director Anthony Wilson before he left to take the position of Town Manager in Belgrade, Maine. Wilson wrote the script and helped produce the video with Groves.

The video was one of five finalists in the Community/Public Service – Single Spot/Campaign category. A production featuring San Angelo Police Department’s Officer Marius Cobbs was also among the finalists in this category. Both videos can be found on the City’s YouTube channel and SATV (Suddenlink channel 17).

This is the second time the City of San Angelo has been awarded a Lone Star EMMY.

The Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences serves all 19 television markets in Texas. The academy recognizes excellence in the television industry with its distinguished EMMY Award.
