San Angelo Regional Airport - Mathis Field is the only commercial airport serving the Concho Valley.

The airport is owned by the City of San Angelo and is classified by the Federal Aviation Administration as a commercial primary, non-hub airport. 

The airport is certified by the FAA for Part 139 operations. The FAA contract tower is staffed from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. and logs more than 100,000 operations per year. More than 150 aircraft are based at Mathis Field. 

In addition to the tower, the airport offers three intersecting runways and a full range of instrument approach options. The runways are open for operations 24 hours per day and service commercial, private and military aviation.


Mathis Field parking is fast, convenient and FREE. San Angelo Regional Airport has ample short- and long-term parking. Local taxis run continuously from in front of the terminal. 

All parking is set in a beautiful, West Texas landscape. The parking is well-lighted, and monitored and patrolled by airport and City police. Disabled parking is available immediately adjacent to the terminal.


The terminal opens daily at 5 a.m. and remains open until 30 minutes after the last arriving flight of the day. Airline ticket counters open at least 1 1/2 hours before the time of the first scheduled departures. Contact your airline to confirm ticket counter opening and departure times. Local taxis can be found in the taxi queue in front of the terminal. The airport administrative office is located within the terminal building. Airport officials assist with such issues as business opportunities, building availability, airport fees, airport regulations, tenant services and other airport and facility management issues.
