The Recreation Division manages facilities such as the City's two recreation centers, Love Municipal Pool, the San Angelo Nature Center and the Texas Bank Sports Complex. Additionally, Recreation is responsible for a host of programming, including senior services, athletics, an aquatic program, summer day camps and special events such as the annual Date Night.

Enjoy the San Angelo Symphony's annual July 3rd Pops Concert's patriotic symphonic music and fireworks spectacular from the best seat in the house - Love Municipal Pool! Concessions are available for purchase. Tickets may be purchased at the Recreation office in Santa Fe Crossing, 702 S. Chadbourne St. No alcohol or outside food and drinks are allowed in the pool during this event.

Flick N' Float

Movies for the Flick N' Float will be shown at Love Municipal Pool, 18 E. Avenue A, with a regular admission fee. The movies will begin at sunset. For more information, contact the main office at 325-657-4450.

When the Looney Tunes are kidnapped by the Nerdlucks to become a new attraction at Moron Mountain, Bugs Bunny challenges them to a basketball game to determine their fate. The Nerdlucks agree and steal basketball skills from famous basketball stars: while Bugs gets help from the legend himself, Michael Jordan.

Kayaking for Beginners

Want to learn kayaking basics, but don't know where to start? Need beginners instruction but the info you find is too advanced? This camp will cover all the basics to get you paddling. We will give you kayaking tips, safety advice and more. Class includes the use of a kayak. Register at the Recreation offices in Santa Fe Crossing, 702 S. Chadbourne St., from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays.

Movies in the Park

Recreation continues its free Movie in the Park series on Saturday, Aug. 13, with a showing of Disney's Zootopia. The movie starts at sundown at Kirby Park, 1400 Edmund Blvd. Families are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and refreshments.  Glass containers are not allowed in City parks and pets must be leashed. Kona Ice and Semper Fresh Kettle Corn will also be on hand selling their goodies.
